Gregg Allman is cutting his first-ever Australian tour short.  A statement from the promoter explains that just before the trek began the rocker broke his wrist, which has "unexpectedly worsened," and left Gregg in "severe pain and unable to perform."

Allman has reportedly returned to the U.S. for treatment.  He skipped Monday's date in Sydney and won't be in Melbourne for Wednesday's concert, but the shows weren't cancelled.  Gov't Mule and the Devon Allman Band are also on the bill, and are playing extended sets to fill the gap.  Concertgoers can also opt for a refund.

It's the second time in as many months that Gregg has missed shows for a medical reason.  In March the Allman Brothers Band had to end their annual run at New York's Beacon Theater early when Gregg came down with bronchitis.
